Damascus, Sept. 11 (SANA)Israeli occupation forces fired an artillery shell at the outskirts ofBeit Jinnin the westernDamascus countrysideon Friday, with no casualties reported.

The shell landed on agricultural land west of the town, SANA reporter said.

The attack follows a series of similar incidents in southern Syria. On Sept. 5, Israeli forces shelled the vicinity of Bat al-Warda Hill near Beit Jinn. A day later, an artillery shell struck the village of al-Mashaala in northernQuneitracountryside, killing several sheep.

Israeli forces have continued incursions into southern Syria in violation of the1974 Disengagement Agreement,including raids on civilian homes, arrests, land clearing and artillery attacks.

Syria has repeatedly demanded the withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces from its territory, stressing that measures taken by Israel are null and void under international law. It has also called on the international community to press Israel for a full withdrawal fromsouthern Syria.
