Moscow, Sept. 11 (SANA)Russia deported or expelled about 72,600 foreign nationals during the first half of 2026 as authorities stepped up measures against illegal migration, theRussian Interior Ministrysaid Friday.

The ministry said on Telegram that authorities recorded 27,800 violations of migration laws during the six-month period and issued 7,700 notifications to security agencies concerning restrictions on entry into the country.

Authorities also recorded 50,000 administrative violations by employers related to the employment of foreign workers, up 22.1% from the same period last year.

Inspections of businesses increased by 42.5%, with violations detected in 90.3% of inspections, the ministry said. A further 31,000 administrative violations involving foreign workers were recorded.

In February, Russia’s Federal Security Service and Interior Ministry said they had dismantled a network accused of organizing illegal migration intoRussiainvolving nationals of Latin American countries.
