Paris, Sep.11 (SANA)France on Friday renewed its call for the withdrawal of Israeli forces stationed inside Syrian territory and reaffirmed its support for a security agreement between Syria andIsrael.

The French Foreign Ministry told SANA that any military deployment in the separation zone between Syria and Israel constitutes a violation of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement.

The ministry also reiterated France’s full support for the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF), stressing that its security must be maintained.

UNDOF was established on May 31, 1974, and has since continued its mission in the area to monitor the implementation of the Disengagement Agreement.

Syria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Ibrahim Olabi previously said Syria remains committed to facilitating UNDOF’s work and providing it with a safe environment free of harassment and risks, enabling the force to carry out its mandate freely. He warned of the risks posed to UNDOF by Israeli recklessness in its area of operations.
