Syrian, Turkish ministers visit child care center during Damascus trip
Damascus, Sept. 11 (SANA)Syria’s Social Affairs and Labor MinisterHind Kabawatand Türkiye’s Family and Social Services MinisterMahinur Özdemir Göktaşvisited a child care center in the Damascus countryside on Friday as part of the Turkish minister’s visit to Syria.
The two ministers toured theLahen al-Hayat Homes Complexin Qudsaya suburb, Damascus countryside, where they reviewed its operations and the care and services provided there.
Göktaş arrived in Damascus earlier on Friday and was received by Kabawat at Damascus International Airport.
The Lahen al-Hayat Homes Complex is a national institution specializing in the care of children of unknown parentage and those without family care. It serves as a national center for such children in Syria.
The institution is working to promote family-based care as the preferred approach to child protection, as part of efforts to bring Syria’s care system in line with international standards and best practices.
