Damascus, Sept. 11 (SANA)One person was killed and 19 others injured in 17 traffic accidents across Syria over the past 24 hours, the Civil Defense said Friday.Emergency teams provided first aid and transported the injured to hospitals, while crews cleared debris and secured the accident sites,the Civil Defensesaid on its Telegram channel.Civil Defense teams also responded to 77 fires across the country during the same period. One involved agricultural fields and crops, while the others broke out in homes, shops, vegetation, trees, waste and electrical wiring.

No civilian casualties were reported from the fires, which caused only material damage.Firefightersextinguished the blazes and cooled the affected areas to prevent them from reigniting.The Civil Defense urged people to avoid lighting fires in forests and agricultural areas or discarding cigarette butts and glass containers near vegetation.
