Syria joins world Fire Congress in London to discuss fire safety
London, Sept.10 (SANA)Syria participated through a delegation from the Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management in the secondWorld Fire Congress(WFC), held in London on Sept. 8 and 9.According to a statement published by the ministry on its Telegram channel on Wednesday, the delegation included Deputy Minister of Emergency and Disaster Management for Disaster Management Affairs Ahmad Aqziz and Director of the Syrian Civil DefenseMunir Mustafa.The congress reviewed the latest international experiences and practices in fire prevention and community protection, as well as mechanisms for preserving historic and cultural buildings and sites from various risks.Participants discussed ways to enhance the preparedness of firefighting and emergency services to respond toclimate-related disasters, large-scale emergencies and other emerging threats and risks.The World Fire Congress is an international platform bringing together leaders and experts from firefighting and emergency services to address common challenges, strengthen international cooperation, exchange expertise and knowledge, and develop solutions that support more resilient communities, fire safety and the protection of lives and property.
