Egypt condemns repeated Israeli incursions into Syria as violation of international law

Cairo, Sept. 10 (SANA)Egypt strongly condemned repeated Israeli incursions into Syrian territory, describing them as a flagrant violation of Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and a clear breach of international law.

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry said in a statement posted on X on Thursday that Cairo categorically rejected Israeli violations and incursions into Syrian territory, warning that their continuation would fuel tensions and undermine security and stability in the region.

The ministry reiterated Egypt’s full solidarity with Syria and its support for the country’s sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity.

It also stressed the need for Israel to withdraw from occupied Syrian territory and comply with the 1974 Disengagement Agreement.

Syria has repeatedly demanded the withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces from its territory, saying measures taken by the occupation are null and void under international law.

Damascus has also called on the international community to fulfill its responsibilities and compel Israel to fully withdraw from southern Syria.FJ/MF
