Daraa, Sep.10 (SANA)The Civil Defense mine engineering team in Daraadestroyedfour artillery mines Thursday after they were found in agricultural land near the town of Bosra al-Sham, as part of ongoing efforts to secure the area and protect civilians and farmers from war remnants.

Abdul Aziz Mohammad, commander of the Civil Defense team inBosra al-Sham, told SANA that the team responded immediately after receiving reports from residents about suspicious objects in farmland adjacent to the city. The team established a security perimeter around the site to ensure public safety.

Mohammad said the mines were safely destroyed in accordance with approved procedures, stressing the importance of clearing such remnants given the area’s agricultural nature and the heavy movement of vehicles, as well as its historical and cultural significance.

Earlier in August, engineering teams affiliated with the Ministry of Defense destroyed 1,500 planted mines in a minefield near Qara in Rural Damascus.
