Desarrollo de la Comunidad y JCI RD buscan impulsar en conjunto iniciativas de impacto comunitario
Santo Domingo.–The General Directorate of Community Development (DGDC) and the Junior Chamber International Dominican Republic (JCI RD) signed an inter-institutional collaboration agreement aimed at strengthening the execution of programs, projects and initiatives of community impact and youth development at the national level.
The agreement establishes a cooperation framework through which both institutions will articulate efforts, capacities and resources for the planning, execution, monitoring and evaluation of initiatives aimed at generating opportunities and contributing to the development of communities and Dominican youth.
The signing was carried out by the head of the General Directorate of Community Development, Dr. Modesto Guzmán, and the national president of JCI Dominican Republic, Patricia Lapaix Alvarado, accompanied by the world president of JCI, Alejandra Castillo, who highlighted the commitment of the organization, which is why she maintains that “this agreement is a source of pride.”
The general director of the DGDC, Dr. Modesto Guzmán, stated that "this alliance is born from a shared vision: working for stronger communities, more prepared young people and a society with greater opportunities for all, youth represents one of the main transforming forces of our society. I feel very satisfied that we can begin this path together, so that this agreement is translated into projects."
For her part, the national president of JCI, Patricia Lapaix Alvarado, said that "for the Junior Chamber International Dominican Republic it is an honor to be able to formalize this agreement to show the impact of the work we do with allies who are aligned with the vision of the organization worldwide, with sustainable projects that transcend; the Dominican Republic has a lot of potential and by working hand in hand with the communities we can make a better country."
The alliance contemplates actions aligned with the social, civic, economic and community development policies of the Dominican Republic, such as training programs in values, sustainability, environment and leadership; civic training workshops; promotion of reading and education; campaigns to prevent domestic violence and teenage pregnancy, among others.

De su lado, la presidenta nacional de JCI, Patricia Lapaix Alvarado, dijo que“para la Junior Chamber International República Dominicana es un honor poder formalizar este acuerdo para mostrar el impacto de trabajo que realizamos con aliados que están alineados a la visión de la organización a nivel mundial, con proyectos sostenibles que transciendan; la República Dominicana tiene mucho potencial y trabajando de la mano con las comunidades podemos hacer un mejor país”. La alianza contempla acciones alineadas con las políticas dedesarrollo social, cívico, económico y comunitariode la República Dominicana, como los programas de formación en valores, sostenibilidad, medioambiente y liderazgo; talleres de formación cívica; fomento de la lectura y educación; campañas de prevención de violencia intrafamiliar y embarazo en adolescentes, entre otros.
