Baghdad, Sept. 10 (SANA)Iraqi Oil MinisterBassem Mohammed Khudairannounced plans to increase the country’s oil exports viaSyriaand Türkiye’s Ceyhan port to more than 1 million barrels.

Khudair told the Iraqi News Agency (INA) thatIraqis exporting around 3 million barrels per day in September and remains committed to itsOPECproduction ceiling, while its current production capacity does not exceed 4.2 million barrels per day.

“Iraq is exporting around 3 million barrels per day in September and remains committed to its OPEC production ceiling, while current production capacity does not exceed 4.2 million barrels per day,” Khudair said.

He added that Iraq has “a future plan to increase pipeline export capacity via Syria and Türkiye’s Ceyhan port to more than 1 million barrels.”

Khudair said Saturday that the Iraqi government plans to raise the country’s overall export capacity to 5 million barrels per day after completing strategic pipelines extending toward Faysh Khabur and Baniyas, in addition to export outlets through the Strait of Hormuz. Syria signed two memoranda of understanding on July 18 with Iraq and a consortium of international companies to rehabilitate and revive the Kirkuk-Baniyas crude oil pipeline, a strategic step aimed at reactivating one of the region’s major oil links and strengthening energy cooperation.
