The national security adviser and Royal Guard commander, Lieutenant General Hisanik Naspin Hammed Al- Khalifa, attended the closing ceremony of the Gata Junior training camp in the presence of the commander of the Royal Guard special operations. Colonel Hisanik Khalib al- Khalifa and a number of distinguished guests and invitees. On the occasion, his han has affirmed the camp is a national project aimed at investing in the country's youth, developing their character, honing their skills, and preparing them to be better equipped to shoulder responsibility and face challenges. The ceremony began with the royal anthem followed by a recitation of verses from the holy Quran. The chairman of the organizing committee and director of the media office of his highness shake khalibu al- khalifa Ahmed al- shik then delivered a speech in the occasion. A special film was screened offering a behind-the-scenes look at the camp showcasing aspects of the participants journey as well as the training experiences and situations they encountered which developed their capabilities and strengthened their team spirit and discipline. The United Nations in Bahrain has issued its 2025 annual results report highlighting achievements in the first year of implementing the UN sustainable development cooperation framework for 2025 to 2029. UN resident coordinator in Bahrain Khaled al- Mad said the UN values its partnership with the kingdom in delivering the sustainable development goals agenda. From environmental protection to tackling climate change, Bahrain is moving at a rapid pace toward a more sustainable future align with its national and international commitments and in support of the sustainable development goals and the Bahin economic vision 2030. During 2025 and 2026, national efforts on climate action was strengthened with the continued implementation of Bahin's carbon neutrality strategy, which aims to achieve net zero emissions by60 and reduce carbon emissions by 30% by 2035. In response to climate change, mangrove aforestation projects have gained prominence with the number of seedlings planted exceeding 2.23 million, surpassing the target set for 2035. In the renewable energy sector, the kingdom has commissioned 372 projects connected to the electricity distribution grid with a capacity exceeding 141 megawatt and aims to increase capacity to approximately 500 megawatt in the coming years. Major solar energy projects with a total capacity of 500 megawatt are also underway. While renewable energy projects have contributed to reducing carbon emissions by approximately 115,000 metric tonses annually, these efforts integrate environmental protection with the transition to clean energy as Bahin continues to build a development model that makes sustainability part of its present and an investment in its future.
