His Excellency Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met in Paris with His Excellency Mr. Ruhakana Rugunda, Special Envoy of the President of the Republic of Uganda. The Special Envoy was accompanied by His Excellency Mr. Olara Otunnu, the Republic of Uganda’s candidate for the position of United Nations Secretary-General for the upcoming term , on the sidelines of the Minister's participation in the first international space summit. His Excellency Mr. Olara Otunnu briefed the Foreign Minister on his executive program for his candidacy for the UN Secretary-General post. For his part, the Foreign Minister expressed his best wishes to Mr. Otunnu for success in his campaign for this important international position, noting the importance of the effective role played by the UN Secretary-General in strengthening international efforts aimed at achieving global development and prosperity and maintaining international peace and security.
