Cotton picking, which is an important agricultural season in Turkmenistan, has been started. At the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers held on August 28, the President of Turkmenistan gave instructions to start the cotton picking season on September 9. Yesterday, with the blessings of the Turkmen leader, the farmers of all regions of the country began to harvest cotton together. Opening the season with "white gold" caravans is a long-standing tradition of Turkmen cotton farmers, which is worthily continued in the new historical period. The main task of farmers is to harvest the crops grown in the fields without loss and on time, and to hand them over to the national threshing floor. Our people have accumulated rich experience in growing cotton, which is one of the important crops in the country's agriculture. Cultivation and processing of "white gold" is one of the priority directions of agricultural sector development. In this regard, great importance is attached to the modernization of the material and equipment base of the cotton industry, the active introduction of advanced scientific developments, innovative technologies, and the economic stimulation of agricultural producers. The large-scale reforms implemented in the agricultural sector under the leadership of the Honorable President are aimed at effectively solving the tasks set before the sector and bringing all its areas, including cotton farming, to a new level of quality. In particular, specific measures are being taken to improve farming culture, to use scientific methods developed by taking into account the soil and weather conditions of each province of the country when growing agricultural crops, and to improve land reclamation conditions. At the same time, scientific selection and cultivation of new varieties of cotton, which are quick-maturing, high-yielding, and distinguished by high-quality fibers, are being promoted in the regions. They manufacture products that meet international standards and are highly sought after by buyers in domestic and foreign markets. It should be noted that technical, mineral fertilizers, water supply and other services are provided to tenants and agricultural households under favorable conditions. At the same time, the living conditions of the rural population are constantly being improved. Specific tasks to be implemented in this regard are defined in the "Program of socio-economic development of the country of the President of Turkmenistan in 2022-2028" and in the "National Program of the President of Turkmenistan on changing the living conditions of the population of villages, towns, cities and district centers until 2028". All conditions have been created for high-performance operation and relaxation of the switches. Preparations have been made in the receiving units and cotton gins for harvesting the cotton crop. In the laboratories located there, specialists of the state service "Turkmenstandartary" carry out the quality check of the incoming product.
