We did not create the Amazon, nor did we bring the indigenous peoples to live in the Amazon. But certainly, at no point in this country's history has a government been as concerned with preserving the Amazon forest and its waters as we are. That is why today is a very grateful day, and I wanted those of you who are happy with everything that happened here today to remember that less than 4 years ago we were crying because the rhetoric was to break the fences to let the cars pass. That was the rhetoric from 4 years ago. So it is important for you to remember that a standing forest is more profitable than a forest that has been cut down or burned. We are already close to achieving that with you.
