ශ්‍රී ලාංකේය සාහිත්‍ය ක්ෂේත්‍රය පෝෂණය කිරීමට උර දුන් ලේඛක ලේඛිකාවන් රාජ්‍ය සම්මානයෙන් පුදනු ලබන රාජ්‍ය සාහිත්‍ය සම්මාන ප්‍රදානෝත්සවය සඳහා අද (08) පස්වරුවේ කොළඹ බණ්ඩාරනායක ජාත්‍යන්තර සම්මන්ත්‍රණ ශාලාවේදී එක්වීමි. ප්‍රතිභාපූර්ණ නිර්මාණවේදීන් ඇගයීමෙන් සාහිත්‍ය ක්ෂේත්‍රයෙහි නව ප්‍රබෝධයක් ඇති කිරීමටත්, රසඥතාවෙන් සහ සහකම්පනයෙන් යුක්ත සංස්කෘතික මිනිසෙකු ගොඩනැඟීමේ රජයේ අරමුණ සාක්ෂාත් කර ගැනීම උදෙසාත් මෙවැනි කාර්යය ඉතා වැදගත් වේ. එසේම, සිංහල, දෙමළ හෝ ඉංග්‍රීසි මාධ්‍යයෙන් සාහිත්‍යකරණයේ නිරත වෙමින් මෙරට සාහිත්‍ය ක්ෂේත්‍රයට අනුපමේය සේවාවක් ඉටු කරන ලද නිර්මාණකරුවන් තිදෙනෙකුට ජීවිතයේ එක්වරක් පමණක් පිදෙන “සාහිත්‍යරත්න” ගෞරව සම්මාන පුද කිරීමට අවස්ථාවක් ලැබීම පිළිබඳවද සතුටු වෙමි. මෙම උත්සවය සංවිධානයෙහිලා කැප වූ බුද්ධශාසන, ආගමික සහ සංස්කෘතික කටයුතු අමාත්‍යාංශය, සංස්කෘතික කටයුතු දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව, ශ්‍රී ලංකා කලා මණ්ඩලය සහ රාජ්‍ය සාහිත්‍ය අනුමණ්ඩලය ඇතුළු සියලු ආයතනවල කාර්ය මණ්ඩල වෙත මාගේ ස්තූතිය පිරිනමමි. මෙවර රාජ්‍ය සාහිත්‍ය සම්මානයෙන් පිදුම් ලද සියලුම නිර්මාණවේදීන්ට හෘදයාංගම සුබපැතුම් එක් කරමි. இலங்கை இலக்கியத் துறையை வளப்படுத்த பங்களிப்பு வழங்கிய எழுத்தாளர்கள் அரச விருது வழங்கி கௌரவிக்கப்படும் அரச இலக்கிய விருது வழங்கும் விழாவில் இன்று (08) பிற்பகல் கொழும்பு பண்டாரநாயக்க சர்வதேச மாநாட்டு மண்டபத்தில் கலந்துகொண்டேன். திறமைமிக்க படைப்பாளிகளைப் பாராட்டுவதன் மூலம் இலக்கியத் துறையில் புதிய எழுச்சியினை ஏற்படுத்தவும், ரசனை மற்றும் ஒத்துணர்வுடன் கூடிய கலாசார மனிதனைக் கட்டியெழுப்பும் அரசாங்கத்தின் நோக்கத்தை அடைந்து கொள்வதற்கு இத்தகைய செயற்பாடுகள் மிக முக்கியமானவையாகும். மேலும், சிங்கள, தமிழ் அல்லது ஆங்கில ஊடகங்களில் இலக்கியப் பணியில் ஈடுபட்டு இந்நாட்டு இலக்கியத் துறைக்கு உன்னதமான சேவையாற்றிய மூன்று படைப்பாளிகளுக்கு வாழ்க்கையில் ஒருமுறை மட்டுமே வழங்கப்படுகின்ற "சாஹித்யரத்ன" கௌரவ விருதுகளை வழங்கக் கூடிய வாய்ப்புக் கிடைத்தமை குறித்தும் மகிழ்ச்சியடைகிறேன். இந்த விழாவை ஏற்பாடு செய்வதில் அர்ப்பணிப்புடன் செயற்பட்ட புத்தசாசன, சமய மற்றும் கலாசார அலுவல்கள் அமைச்சு, கலாசார அலுவல்கள் திணைக்களம், இலங்கை கலைக் கழகம் மற்றும் அரச இலக்கிய குழு உட்பட அனைத்து நிறுவனங்களின் ஊழியர்களுக்கும் எனது நன்றிகளைத் தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறேன். இம்முறை அரச இலக்கிய விருது வழங்கி கௌரவிக்கப்பட்ட அனைத்து படைப்பாளிகளுக்கும் எனது மனமார்ந்த வாழ்த்துகளைத் தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறேன். I attended the State Literary Awards Ceremony held this afternoon (08) at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) in Colombo, where writers and authors who have contributed significantly to the enrichment of Sri Lanka’s literary landscape were honoured with national awards. Recognising and celebrating talented creative artists is vital to revitalising the literary sphere and advancing the Government’s vision of nurturing a culturally enriched society shaped by appreciation, sensitivity and empathy. I am also pleased to have had the opportunity to honour three distinguished distinguished literary personalities who have made an exceptional contribution to Sri Lanka’s literary heritage through their work in Sinhala, Tamil or English, with the “Sahithyaratna” Lifetime Achievement Awards, a prestigious honour conferred only once in a recipient’s lifetime. I extend my sincere appreciation to the Ministry of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs, the Department of Cultural Affairs, the Sri Lanka Arts Council, the State Literary Advisory Board and all other institutions and staff members who contributed to the successful organisation of this ceremony. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all the creative artists who were honoured with State Literary Awards this year.
