Ministerio de Cultura y Bellas Artes dan inicio al ciclo formativo 2026-2027 para estudiantes en todo el país
Santo Domingo.–The Ministry of Culture inaugurated the 2026-2027 school year at the San Cristóbal School of Fine Arts, reaffirming its commitment to the artistic training of children, adolescents and young people.
The event was headed by the Minister of Culture, Roberto Ángel Salcedo; the general director of Fine Arts, Marinella Sallent; the senator of San Cristóbal, Gustavo Lara Salazar, and the provincial governor, Pura Casilla Dolores. Teachers, students, parents, representatives of the artistic and cultural sector, special guests and members of the media also participated.
Minister Salcedo highlighted in his speech that artistic training is essential for the development of children and young people, by strengthening values such as discipline, focus, teamwork and the sense of community, pointing out that these values are essential for their comprehensive development, regardless of the profession they choose in the future.
Likewise, he highlighted the importance of expanding artistic training opportunities and extending them to the entire national territory, and stressed that the objective is not only to teach classes, but to offer excellent training in appropriate spaces and with highly trained teachers.
For her part, Marinella Sallent pointed out that Bellas Artes constitutes a broad public artistic training network, considered unique in much of Latin America, made up of 17 regional schools, 5 national schools, 23 music academies and 8 official artistic companies.
Currently, the institution has 5,904 students, 352 teachers and 213 collaborators, and plans to reach 6,800 students during the 2026-2027 academic year.
The programming included a varied display of the talent of students from specialized artistic training institutions.

Asimismo, resaltó la importancia deampliar las oportunidadesde formación artística y extenderlas a todo el territorio nacional, y subrayó que el objetivo no es solo impartir clases, sino ofrecer una formación de excelencia enespacios adecuados y con docentes altamente preparados. Por su parte, Marinella Sallent señaló que Bellas Artes constituye unaamplia red públicade formación artística, consideradaúnicaen gran parte de Latinoamérica, integrada por17 escuelas regionales, 5 escuelas nacionales, 23 academias de música y 8 compañías artísticas oficiales.
