Washington, Sept. 8 (SANA)Dolly Parton’s sisterStellahas urged social media users to stop circulating what she called “fake AI garbage” following the death of the country music star, the BBC reported.

Parton died on August 25 at the age of 80, prompting tributes online and at locations including the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville.

Known as the “Queen of Country,” Dolly Parton was one of the most successful country music performers in history. The American singer-songwriter and actress was also widely recognized for her cultural influence and philanthropy through Dollywood and the Dollywood Foundation.

In an Instagram post, Stella thanked fans for their genuine support but said the volume of artificial intelligence-generated material and misinformation had been difficult for the family to absorb.

She called for greater compassion and urged people to honor her sister’s life through tolerance and mutual respect rather than insensitive comments and fabricated content.

Dozens of AI-generated songs, images and videos have circulated since Parton’s death. They include fabricated images and songs imitating well-known performers, some of which have attracted large audiences despite carrying AI labels or disclaimers.

Families of other deceased public figures have made similar appeals over AI-generated representations of their relatives. Parton herself expressed concern in a 2023 interview about artificial intelligence being used to replace performers’ voices, writing and identities, while acknowledging its potential benefits in science and medicine
