This morning I went to the Ministry of Plantation and Commodities to meet the people of the ministry as well as the small farmers, in addition to listening to their views, complaints and problems they face. Alhamdulillah, the national economy recorded 6 percent growth in the second quarter, exceeding all initial projections. The plantation and commodity sectors also contribute to this strength, including smallholders who as a whole make a significant contribution to the economy and the country's revenue. Therefore, their voice must be heard and their fate must be defended. Among the things that need to be paid attention to is the question of income, improving the quality and yield of production, farm road facilities and the housing conditions of smallholders. After the assembly, I together with the Minister and the leadership of the ministry held a closed meeting with representatives of smallholders and entrepreneurs in the rubber, palm, cocoa, pepper, kenaf and timber sectors. In this special session, I listened directly and unfiltered to the issues they faced in the field. Among those raised include the need to increase diesel eligibility for smallholders, easier access to farm road allocations, alternative water sources, proposals to strengthen the representation of smallholders' voices in Parliament, as well as overlapping functions between LGM and RISDA. I appreciate every point of view presented. Several matters will be immediately discussed in the Cabinet meeting tomorrow, as well as in my meeting with the Menteri Besar and the Chief Minister next month. Maybe not all can be implemented immediately due to current constraints, but the MADANI Government will try its best to find a solution according to its ability. God willing, any decision will be announced in the 2027 Budget. #MalaysiaMADANI #YakinMADANI

Notes

#MalaysiaMADANI #YakinMADANI
