His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani received a phone call today from His Excellency Mr. Andy Burnham, Prime Minister of the friendly United Kingdom.

During the call, they reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries, and ways to support and enhance them in various fields, in addition to exchanging views on a number of regional and international issues, especially with regard to developments in the Palestinian issue, and efforts aimed at achieving a just and lasting peace based on the two-state solution.

The two sides also discussed the recent escalation in the Strait of Hormuz and its repercussions on the region and international maritime traffic, stressing the importance of reducing tension and giving priority to dialogue and diplomatic solutions, which contributes to enhancing security and stability in the region.
