El Salvador reafirma su apuesta por una industria competitiva

Vice President Félix Ulloa participated in the XVI Edition of the 2026 Industrial Exporters Ranking, organized by the Salvadoran Association of Industrialists, a space that recognizes the performance of companies that drive the country's competitiveness and economic growth.

Vice President Ulloa highlighted that the industrial sector constitutes one of the main engines of the national economy and recognized the leadership of ASI for promoting initiatives that distinguish the efforts of Salvadoran businessmen, who have contributed to positioning the country with greater recognition in international markets.

In that sense, he pointed out that El Salvador is going through a favorable moment for investment, thanks to the climate of trust and stability that has allowed the growth of various strategic sectors. In the same way, he stated that this environment has strengthened productive development and generated new opportunities for the expansion of the business fabric.

As a reflection of this dynamism, the manufacturing industry represented 12.7% of GDP at the end of 2025 and, as of May 2026, industrial exports concentrated 94% of total exports of goods, consolidating itself as the main support for Salvadoran foreign trade.

Likewise, the country registered economic growth of 4.8% during the first quarter of 2026, driven by investment, the strengthening of infrastructure and the dynamism of productive activity. These results reflect the strengthening of the investment climate and confidence in the country.

De la misma manera, afirmó que este entorno ha fortalecido el desarrollo productivo y generado nuevas oportunidades para la expansión del tejido empresarial. Como reflejo de este dinamismo, la industria manufacturera representó el 12.7 % del PIB al cierre de 2025 y, a mayo de 2026, las exportaciones industriales concentraron el 94 % de las exportaciones totales de bienes, consolidándose como el principal soporte del comercio exterior salvadoreño. Asimismo, el país registró un crecimiento económico del 4.8 % durante el primer trimestre de 2026, impulsado por la inversión, el fortalecimiento de la infraestructura y el dinamismo de la actividad productiva. Estos resultados reflejan el robustecimiento del clima de inversión y la confianza en el país.
