Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi Meets the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of the Islamic Republic of Iran ••••• Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi met today, Wednesday, with the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mr. Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, and his accompanying delegation. During the meeting, the two sides discussed prospects for cooperation and joint action, as well as ways to strengthen and further develop bilateral relations across various fields, in a manner that serves the mutual interests of the two neighboring countries and peoples. The Prime Minister affirmed the depth of relations between Iraq and Iran and the historical, geographical, and religious ties and commonalities shared by the two countries. He commended Iran’s supportive positions toward Iraq, particularly the support provided by the Islamic Republic of Iran to Iraq during its war against ISIS terrorist groups. For his part, the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of the Islamic Republic of Iran expressed his pleasure at visiting Iraq and commended the Iraqi government’s efforts in receiving and serving Iranian pilgrims during the Arbaeen pilgrimage of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).
