Damascus, Aug. 19 (SANA)Syria and Türkiye signed a five-year memorandum of understanding on geology and mining cooperation Wednesday at Tishreen Palace in Damascus, aimed at launching joint programs and strengthening scientific and technical cooperation.

The agreement, signed under the auspices of the two countries’ energy ministries, brings together Syria’s Mining Company, Türkiye’s General Directorate of Mineral Research and Exploration (MTA), and the International Mining Company in Türkiye.

The MoU follows a series of meetings between institutions in both countries and seeks to strengthen coordination and cooperation in geological and mining exploration and development.

The memorandum will remain in effect for five years.F.J./MF
