Israeli occupation forces detain two in Syria’s Quneitra countryside raid
Quneitra, Aug. 19 (SANA)Israeli occupation forcesdetained two young men during an early-morning raid on Jabata al-Khashab in thenorthern Quneitra countrysideon Wednesday, SANA’s correspondent reported.
A force of more than 100 Israeli occupation personnel and about 15 military vehicles entered the town, raided several homes and detained the two men, according to the correspondent.
The detainees were taken to an Israeli occupation position in theJabata al-Khashabnature reserve before the forces withdrew from the area.
The raid came a day after Israeli occupation forces fired an artillery shell at the Yarmouk Basin area in thewestern Daraa countryside.
Israel continues to violate the1974 Disengagement Agreementthrough repeated incursions into southern Syria, raids on civilian homes, detentions, land bulldozing and shelling.
Syria has repeatedly demanded the withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces from its territory, saying measures taken by Israel are null and void and have no legal effect underinternational law. It has also called on theinternational communityto fulfill its responsibilities and compel Israel to withdraw completely from southern Syria.
