Gaza death toll rises to 73,407 as Israeli war continues

Occupied Jerusalem, Aug. 19 (SANA)The number of Palestinians killed in the Gaza Strip since the Israeli war of genocide began on Oct. 7, 2023, has risen to 73,407, with another 174,335 wounded, bringing the overall number of reported casualties to 247,742, thePalestinian Health Ministrysaid Wednesday.

In a statement posted on Telegram, the ministry said hospitals inGazahad received seven bodies and 23 wounded people over the past 24 hours.

Since theceasefiretook effect on Oct. 10, 1,273 Palestinians have been killed and 4,223 wounded, according to the ministry.

It said more victims remained under the rubble and on roads, with ambulance andCivil Defensecrews unable to reach them.

The war has caused widespread destruction of homes and infrastructure across Gaza and severely disrupted essential services, deepening the humanitarian crisis in the territory.

The situation has been compounded by Israeli restrictions on the entry of humanitarian aid and materials needed for reconstruction, despite provisions in the ceasefire agreement calling for their unrestricted entry.
