One in 10 Kiwi women and girls live with endometriosis. Right now, it can take 8 to 12 years to get a diagnosis, and the only way to confirm it is surgery. That's far too long to wait for answers.

New clinical guidelines will let GPs diagnose it from symptoms, family history and examination, and start treatment straight away.

GPs will also get training and resources to help them spot it earlier too.

Too many women have been told their pain is normal when they know it's not. We're making sure they're heard.
