This summer's National High School Baseball Championship (Summer Koshien) is coming to a close, with the semifinals scheduled for tomorrow, August 20th, and the finals on August 22nd.
Today, I would like to introduce the ``Act for Partial Amendment of the Act on the Payment of Tuition Support Grants for High Schools, etc.'', which was enacted at the Diet session that closed last month.
As a result of this law revision, starting in April of this year, the government will significantly expand the ``High School Tuition Support Fund,'' which supports ``high school students' tuition fees.''
Human resources are the basis of national strength, especially economic strength and technological strength. Takaichi Cabinet is working to strengthen its "human resources."
Among these, in today's society with a declining population, it is an urgent issue in high school education to develop human resources who will be responsible for the future of Japanese society.
We are working to reduce the educational expense burden on families by significantly expanding the "High School Attendance Support Fund," so that all willing high school students can receive an education with peace of mind, regardless of their family's financial situation.
Specifically, based on the so-called ``three-party agreement'' regarding ``free high school'', ``tuition fees'', which are the core cost of high school education, will be borne by society as a whole, ``income restrictions'' will be abolished, ``support funds'' will be provided regardless of annual income, and the ``maximum amount'' of ``support funds'' for students attending private high schools will be increased.
At the same time, it is essential to reform the content of high school education in order for high school students to look to their own futures, support local industries, and develop into human resources who can bring about innovation.
For this reason, the government has announced the ``Grand Design'' that indicates the ``direction of high school reform,'' and will strongly promote ``high school education reform'' in each prefecture through the newly established ``High School Education Reform Promotion Fund.''
We will continue to work to ensure that all high school students, whether public or private, receive a ``diverse and high-quality education'' so that they can fly into the future.

今年の夏の全国高等学校野球選手権大会（夏の甲子園）も大詰めを迎えており、明日8月20日は準決勝、8月22日はいよいよ決勝戦の予定です。 今日は、先月に閉会した国会で成立した、『高等学校等就学支援金の支給に関する法律の一部を改正する法律』についてご紹介します。 この法改正により、本年4月から、政府では、｢高校生等の授業料｣を支援する「高等学校等就学支援金」を大幅に拡充しています。 「国力」、特に「経済力」や｢技術力｣の基盤となるのは「人材力」です。 高市内閣では、「人材力」の強化に取り組んでいます。 その中でも、現在の人口減少社会では、｢高校教育｣において、将来の日本社会を担う人材を育成することが喫緊の課題です。 家庭の経済状況にかかわらず、全ての意志ある⾼校⽣等が、安⼼して教育を受けることができるよう、「高等学校等就学支援金」の大幅拡充により、家庭の教育費負担の軽減を図っています。 具体的には、いわゆる｢高校無償化｣に関する｢三党合意｣に基づき、高校教育に係る費用の中核である｢授業料｣を社会全体で負担することにより、｢所得制限｣を撤廃し、年収に関わらず｢支援金｣を支給するとともに、私立高校に通う生徒への｢支援金｣の｢上限額｣の引き上げを行いました。 あわせて、高校生がそれぞれの将来を見据えながら、｢地域の産業｣を支えるとともに、｢イノベーション｣を起こす人材として育っていくためには、｢高校教育｣の内容についても改革していくことが欠かせません。 そのため、政府において｢高校改革の方向性｣を示した『グランドデザイン』を公表し、新たに創設した「高校教育改革促進基金」等により、都道府県における｢高校教育改革｣を強力に推進してまいります。 今後も、高校生の皆さんが、公立・私立を問わず、｢多様で質の高い教育｣を受けて、将来に向けて羽ばたくことができるよう、取り組んでまいります。
