With her enormous talent, Laura Cardoso helped to build our theater and our television. His image will always be in the memory of generations who became accustomed to his presence in the dozens of soap operas that filled the nights of Brazilian families. I had the honor of awarding her the Order of Cultural Merit in 2007, and then, in 2025, promoting her to the rank of Grand Cross of Cultural Merit, officially recognizing the importance of this great actress for Brazilian culture. To all your family, friends and colleagues, I send you a warm hug.

Com seu enorme talento, Laura Cardoso ajudou a construir o nosso teatro e a nossa televisão. Sua imagem estará sempre na memória de gerações que se acostumaram com sua presença nas dezenas de novelas que embalaram as noites das famílias brasileiras. Tive a honra de agraciá-la com a Ordem do Mérito Cultural em 2007, e depois, em 2025, promovê-la ao grau de Grã-Cruz do Mérito Cultural, reconhecendo oficialmente a importância dessa grande atriz para a cultura brasileira.
