The program featured exhibitions, masterclasses, creative meetings, and scientific and practical events with both local and international artisans. The highlight was the ceremonial declaration of Shahrisabz as a World Craft City, recognizing the longstanding international acknowledgment of its centuries-old craftsmanship traditions passed down through generations. Notably, the esteemed art of iroqi embroidery is among these treasured crafts.

During the festival, the national silk embroidery competition took place, with winners announced in multiple categories.

Saad Al-Qaddumi, President of the World Crafts Council, attended the awards ceremony and met with Kashkadarya region’s Hokim Murotjon Azimov. The parties discussed developing craftsmanship, providing more opportunities for local artisans to study and enhance their skills abroad, and boosting Kashkadarya region artisans’ participation in international festivals and exhibitions.

The parties agreed to strengthen collaboration to support artisans, promote national products globally, and raise awareness of the region’s rich craft traditions.
