President -Elect Hakainde Hichilema Thanks Zambians
President Hakainde Hichilema, popularly known as “Bally,” has expressed deep gratitude to the Zambian people following his re-election, pledging to serve as a unifying leader focused on delivering nationwide development.
In a Facebook post made following his declaration as winner of the 2026 presidential election, President Hichilema described his renewed mandate as a humbling responsibility and commended citizens for conducting a peaceful and orderly electoral process.
”We are truly humbled by the trust you have placed in our hands, to hold our nation’s highest office and to be your servant, once more,” President Hichilema said. “This election showed the world who we are: a nation of peace, a nation of law and order, a democratic nation that settles our differences at the ballot box, and nowhere else.”
The President noted that his campaign took him through all 116 districts across cities, compounds, villages, and farms, giving him direct insight into the everyday challenges facing citizens.
Reaching out to those who voted for opposition candidates, President Hichilema emphasised that his administration remains dedicated to serving all Zambians regardless of political affiliation.
”To those citizens who preferred the ideas presented by our opponents, we hear you, and we will continue to work for you to ensure that every Zambian benefits from the development we are delivering,” he stated.
Looking forward, President Hichilema committed to accelerating economic progress, highlighting future generations as the administration’s primary motivation.
”As we return to work as your servant, we carry with us the memories of the children we met throughout the campaign, and we commit to building a better Zambia for all of you to inherit,” he said, concluding with a call for national solidarity under the country’s founding motto, “One Zambia, One Nation.”
