Two students killed in school shooting in southern Philippines
Manila, Aug. 18 (SANA)Two students were killed Tuesday in a shooting at a secondary school in Zamboanga in the southern Philippines.ABS-CBN News cited Philippine police as saying the attacker, a student at the school, entered a classroom with a .45-caliber pistol and fired at a teacher but missed. He then shot a student, who later died from serious injuries.Police information officer Shelami Chang said the shooting occurred early in the morning as classes were about to begin. The attacker was later found dead and appeared to have shot himself.The Philippine Department of Education said it was coordinating with mental health partners to provide psychological first aid andpsychosocial support to students, staff and others affected.In June, three people were killed and others injured in a school shooting in the central Philippine city of Tacloban.
