Damascus, Aug. 18 (SANA)Syria condemned Israeli airstrikes onAbu al-Duhur Military Airbasein Idlib as a violation of its sovereignty and territorial integrity, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said Tuesday.

The ministry described the strikes as an unjustified act of aggression and a dangerous escalation threatening regional security and stability.

It said continuedIsraeli attackssince December 8, 2024, whileSyriaexercises restraint and works to consolidate stability and avoid escalation, reveal attempts by the Israeli occupation to undermine those efforts and push the region toward further tension and instability.

The statement held the Israeli occupation responsible for the escalation and called on the international community and the UN Security Council to clearly condemn the aggression and take a firm stance against repeated Israeli violations of Syrian sovereignty.

The ministry affirmed that Syria would continue to defend its national rights and interests through legitimate means guaranteed by international laws and norms.kA/MF
