Today, I would like to talk about ``profitable agriculture, forestry, fisheries, and food industries.''
Takaichikaku aims to ``increase demand'' and ``expand exports'' of ``agricultural, forestry, and fishery products and foods.'' For this reason, not only the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, but also the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and myself are personally working to develop demand. In addition, we are working to increase ``added value'' through ``branding through variety protection'' and ``detailed marketing,'' and to create a ``profitable agriculture, forestry, fisheries, and food industry.''
Under these circumstances, this month, the "export value of agricultural, forestry, fishery and food products" for the first half of 2026 (January to June) was announced, and we received the happy news that it was 897.7 billion yen, an increase of 10.9%, or 88 billion yen, compared to the same period last year, which was a record high.
This is the result of the efforts of producers and exporters across the country to focus on "high quality" and boldly take on the challenge of "overseas markets," and I would like to express my heartfelt respect to them.
``Export promotion'' of ``agricultural, forestry, and fishery products and foods'' is an important policy not only for realizing ``profitable agriculture, forestry, fisheries, and food industries,'' but also for raising the ``food self-sufficiency rate.''
In order to achieve food security and revitalize local communities, Takauchi believes that the government will take a step forward and actively create demand both domestically and internationally while making full-fledged efforts to strengthen supply capacity through drastic improvements in productivity.
In fact, during the long holidays in Vietnam and Australia, I myself worked on ``developing demand'' for ``agricultural, forestry, and fishery products and foods,'' including ``Japanese rice flour,'' and through my visits there, I strongly felt that people in these countries have great interest in and expectations for Japan's ``agricultural, forestry, and fishery products and foods.''
We are thinking about serving non-gluten sweets made with Japanese rice flour to the leaders of various countries who will be visiting Japan in the future, and are currently conducting tastings.
Through these efforts, we will create a ``profitable agriculture, forestry, fisheries, and food industry'' while utilizing ``advanced technology'' in order to capture the expanding ``world market'' and create an environment where producers can produce with peace of mind.

本日は、｢稼げる農林水産業・食品産業｣の話もしておこうと思います。 高市内閣では、｢農林水産物・食品｣の｢需要拡大｣と｢輸出拡大｣を図ります。 このため、農林水産大臣のみならず、経済産業大臣や外務大臣、そして私自身も、自ら｢需要開拓｣に取り組んでいます。 また、｢品種保護によるブランド化｣や｢きめ細かなマーケティング｣により、｢付加価値｣を高め、｢稼げる農林水産業・食品産業｣を目指して取り組んでいます。 こうした中、今月、2026年上半期（1月～６月）の｢農林水産物・食品の輸出額｣が発表され、8,977億円と、上半期の実績として、｢過去最高｣を記録した昨年同期と比べても、＋880億円の10.9％増で、｢過去最高｣を更新したとの、嬉しいニュースに接しました。 これは、全国の生産者や輸出に携わる事業者の皆様が、｢高い品質｣にこだわり、｢海外市場｣に果敢に挑戦してこられた成果であり、心から敬意を表します。 ｢農林水産物・食品｣の｢輸出促進｣は、｢稼げる農林水産業・食品産業｣の実現だけでなく、「食料自給率」の引き上げを目指す上でも重要な政策です。 高市内閣では、「食料安全保障」を実現し、地域を活性化させるため、政府も一歩前に出て、国内外の「需要」を積極的に創出しつつ、「生産性の抜本的向上」をはじめ「供給力」の強化に、本格的に取り組んでいきます。 実際、大型連休中、ベトナムやオーストラリアで、私自身も、｢日本産米粉｣を含む｢農林水産物・食品｣の｢需要開拓｣に取り組んでまいりましたが、現地訪問を通じて、各国の皆様が日本の｢農林水産物・食品｣に大きな関心と期待を持っておられることを、強く感じました。 今後、来日される各国首脳の方々に、｢日本産米粉｣で作った「ノングルテン」のお菓子を振舞ってみてはどうかと考え、試食を進めているところです。 こうした取組を通じ、拡大する｢世界市場｣を獲得し、生産者の皆様に安心して生産いただける環境を作るため、｢先端技術｣も活用しながら「稼げる農林水産業・食品産業」を創り出してまいります。
