Riyadh, Aug. 17 (SANA)TheMuslim World League(MWL) condemnedIsrael’s rejection of a roadmap for completing U.S. PresidentDonald Trump’s plan to end the war in theGaza Strip, as well as its opposition to the establishment of aPalestinian state.
MWL Secretary-General and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa said Israel’s position was a continuation of policies that violate international law and UN resolutions and undermine efforts to achieve peace, according to a statement posted on X on Sunday.
Al-Issa called for Israel to comply with commitments under the U.S. plan and its associated roadmap, move ahead with the second phase and prevent any party from obstructing its implementation.
He also welcomed a joint statement by the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, Pakistan, Indonesia, Türkiye, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, highlighting their solidarity with the Palestinian people and support for their legitimate rights, including the establishment of an independent Palestinian state under the two-state solution and relevant international resolutions.
The foreign ministers of the eight countries said Sunday that continued U.S. engagement was needed to ensure Israel complies with the arrangements outlined in the plan and roadmap.
They held the Israeli occupation authorities responsible for the consequences of obstructing or delaying implementation, including worsening conditions in the Gaza Strip and undermining efforts to end the war.
