Presidente Luis Abinader toma juramento a nuevos comandantes del Ejército y la Fuerza Aérea y al director de la Policía Nacional
SantoDomingo.-President Luis Abinader swore in this Monday the new general commanders of the Army and Air Force, as well as the new director of the National Police.
At the event, held in the Hall of Ambassadors of the National Palace, the newly appointed inspector general of the Armed Forces, vice minister of Defense for Military Affairs, head of the Presidential Security Corps (Cusep) and the commander of the Presidential Guard Regiment of the Army of the Dominican Republic were also sworn in.
The head of state was accompanied by the Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Carlos Antonio Fernández Onofre, and the deputy legal consultant of the Executive Branch, Mairení Rivas Polanco.
With the oath, they commit to “comply and enforce the Constitution and the laws, protect and defend their offices, respect the rights and freedoms of citizens and faithfully fulfill the duties of their office.”
Subsequently, the protocol greeting took place.
By Decree 557-26 dated August 16, 2026, President Abinader appointed General Enmanuel Marcelino Souffront Tamayo (FARD), general commander of the Air Force of the Dominican Republic; Major General Jimmy Arias Grullón, (ERD), General Commander of the Army of the Dominican Republic, and General Rafael Ernesto Rodríguez García, Director of the National Police.
Likewise, Major General Jorge Iván Camino Pérez (ERD), was appointed inspector general of the Armed Forces, and Major General Delio Buenaventura Colón Rosario (ERD), vice minister of Defense for Military Affairs.
Brigadier General Guillermo Caro Cruz (ERD) took over as head of the Presidential Security Corps (Cusep), and Brigadier General Rafael Raimundo Ramírez Tejeda (ERD) will serve as commander of the Presidential Guard Regiment of the Army of the Dominican Republic.

El general de brigada Guillermo Caro Cruz (ERD)asumió como jefe del Cuerpo de Seguridad Presidencial (Cusep), y elgeneral de brigada Rafael Raimundo Ramírez Tejeda (ERD)se desempeñará como comandante del Regimiento de la Guardia Presidencial del Ejército de la República Dominicana.
