Official Statement ••••• Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi directed the formation of an investigative committee tasked with identifying the sources and launching points of the attack that targeted the office of the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq, Mr. Masrour Barzani, and the residence of the Director of the Intelligence Agency in the Kurdistan Region, in Erbil. Prime Minister Al-Zaidi also directed that the results of the investigation be announced to the public as soon as possible and that all circumstances surrounding the attack and the parties behind it be identified. ••••• Media Office of the Prime Minister August 17, 2026
