ITSC y ONDA fortalecen alianza para impulsar formación en derecho de autor
Santo DomingoEste.–The Community Higher Technical Institute (ITSC) and the National Copyright Office (ONDA) signed an inter-institutional agreement to strengthen cooperation between both entities and develop joint training, training and dissemination actions on copyright and intellectual property.
The agreement was signed by the rector of the ITSC, José Ramón Holguín Brito, and the general director of ONDA, José Rubén Gonell Cosme, who highlighted the importance of establishing strategic alliances that contribute to the academic and professional preparation of students, teachers and collaborators of the higher education institution.
As part of the agreement, both institutions will promote training and awareness programs on copyright, in addition to conferences, workshops, seminars and other academic activities aimed at expanding the knowledge of the educational community on the protection of works and intellectual creations.
During the signing, Holguín Brito highlighted that the agreement will allow us to continue strengthening higher technical education linked to the needs of society and with the recognition of creativity and innovation as essential elements for national development.
For his part, Gonell Cosme valued the alliance as an opportunity to bring knowledge about copyright to new generations and promote, from educational spaces, a culture of respect and protection of intellectual property.
The collaboration also includes the exchange of knowledge and experiences, the development of projects of common interest and the coordination of initiatives aimed at raising awareness of the importance of protecting intellectual creations and promoting their legitimate use.
The activity, held in the ITSC auditorium with the participation of teachers, students and collaborators, also included the conference “Copyright, Creativity and Innovation”, given by Wilkins Santana Abreu, in charge of Academic Coordination and Planning at ONDA.
Also participating on behalf of the ITSC were Francis Castro, vice-rector for Innovation, Development and Entrepreneurship; Joaquín Lafontaine, director of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT);
While present for the ONDA were Ana Lizardo, in charge of Access to Information; José Gregorio Calderón, of Interinstitutional Relations; Eduar Ramos, in charge of the Planning and Development Department; Fanny Suero, in charge of the Copyright Training and Development Center Department, and José Tejada Gómez, in charge of the Communications Department.
With the signing of the agreement, the ITSC and ONDA reaffirm their willingness to work in an articulated manner to strengthen the comprehensive training of students and contribute to a culture that values, respects and protects creativity, innovation and national talent.

De su lado, Gonell Cosme valoró la alianza como una oportunidad para acercar el conocimiento sobre el derecho de autor a las nuevas generaciones y promover, desde los espacios educativos, una cultura derespeto y protecciónde la propiedad intelectual. La colaboración también contempla el intercambio de conocimientos y experiencias, el desarrollo de proyectos de interés común y la coordinación de iniciativas orientadas acrear concienciasobre la importancia de proteger lascreaciones intelectualesy fomentar su aprovechamiento legítimo.
