Mivhed inicia construcción de obras comunitarias y religiosas en Santiago
Santiago.– The Minister of Housing, Habitat and Buildings (Mivhed) began the construction of community and religious works in the Hato del Yaque municipal district and the Baitoa municipality, in the Santiago province.
These projects are part of the initiatives promoted by Mivhed to strengthen the community and religious infrastructure of the localities, with the construction of appropriate spaces for worship, meeting and coexistence activities of the residents of the area.
The first point visited by Minister ItoBisonó was Hato delYaque, where he broke ground for the construction of the Espíritu Santo church, with an investment of more than RD 10 million.
During the event, the head of Mivhedd highlighted that in this building there will be celebration and prayer, but there will also be community, a space where citizens can go at any given time.
"Just 15 days ago we were here, in Hato delYaque, delivering the first homes of the second stage of a project that is transforming the living conditions of hundreds of families. And at that time we also assumed the commitment to accompany the growth of this community with a space for faith and encounter," said the official.
For her part, the governor of Santiago, Rosa Santos, indicated that the municipal district of Hato del Yaque, one of the fastest growing in population in Santiago, needed a church that gives joy, peace, harmony, and that fills citizens with spirituality.
“Human beings need that spiritual calm, a moment of peace such as church, retreat and a family point is an important element,” Santos added.
The work will have a land area of 158.18 square meters and a construction area of 111 square meters.
The design includes different spaces for the operation of the temple, including green areas, sidewalks, hall, sacristy, altar, meeting room, bell tower and bathrooms. It also includes electrical and sanitary installations, a useful room and lighting systems.
Minister Bisonó took advantage of the occasion to present Father Kelvin Turbí Cabrera, parish priest of the Espíritu Santo chapel, with a Catholic monstrance gifted by the former president of Colombia, Iván Duque.

Subsequently, the Minister of Housing, Habitat and Buildings moved to the Baitoa municipality, in Santiago, where the construction of the Divina Misericordia Retirement House began, with an investment of RD 58 million.
At this event, Minister ItoBisonó highlighted that Mivhed is creating the conditions for it to truly be a space for welcome, reflection, training and coexistence.
“This is an important dimension of our responsibility from the Ministry of Housing, Habitat and Buildings: to build spaces that respond to the different needs of our people,” said the minister.
The work will have a land area of 1,496.36 square meters and a construction area of 1,479.02 square meters.
The design includes spaces for religious, retreat and coexistence activities, including chapel, altar, sacristy, confessional, bedrooms, kitchen, bathrooms and office.
Also included are pedestrian paths, loading and unloading area, service stairs, electrical and sanitary installations, lighting, warehouse and bookstore.
Minister Bisonó was accompanied by the governor of Santiago, Rosa Santos; the senator of Santiago, Daniel Rivera; along with other authorities and representatives of the Hato delYaquey Baitoa.

Por su parte, la gobernadora de Santiago,Rosa Santos, indicó que el distrito municipal de Hato delYaque, uno de los demayor crecimiento poblacionalde Santiago, necesitaba de una iglesia que dé regocijo, paz, armonía, y que llene de espiritualidad a los ciudadanos. “El ser humano necesita esa calma espiritual, un momento de paz como es la iglesia, de retiro y de un punto familiar es un elemento importante”,añadió Santos. La obra contará con una superficie de terreno de158.18 metros cuadradosy un área de construcción de 111 metros cuadrados. El diseño contempla diferentes espacios para el funcionamiento del templo, entre ellos áreas verdes, aceras, recibidor, sacristía, altar, salón de reuniones, campanario y baños. También incluye instalaciones eléctricas y sanitarias, un cuarto útil y sistemas de iluminación. El ministro Bisonó aprovechó la ocasión para entregarle al padreKelvin Turbí Cabrera, párroco de la capilla Espíritu Santo, una custodia católica obsequiada por el expresidente de Colombia,Iván Duque. Casa de Retiro Divina Misericordia Posteriormente, el ministro de Vivienda, Hábitat y Edificaciones se trasladó al municipio Baitoa, en Santiago, donde inició la construcción de laCasa de Retiro Divina Misericordia, con una inversión deRD 58 millones. En este acto, el ministroItoBisonó resaltó que elMivhedcreando las condiciones para que este sea verdaderamente un espacio deacogida, reflexión, formación y convivencia. “YesaesunadimensiónimportantedenuestraresponsabilidaddesdeelMinisteriode Vivienda,HábitatyEdificaciones:construirespaciosquerespondana lasdistintasnecesidadesdenuestragente”,expresóelministro. También se incluyen senderos peatonales, área de carga y descarga, escaleras de servicio, instalaciones eléctricas y sanitarias, iluminación, almacén y librería.
