La vicepresidenta Raquel Peña juramenta a Víctor Bisonó como nuevo ministro de Relaciones Exteriores
SantoDomingo.–The Vice President of the Republic, Raquel Peña, swore in this Monday Víctor “Ito” Bisonó as the new Minister of Foreign Affairs, after his appointment by President Luis Abinader through Decree No. 554-26.
During the swearing-in ceremony, the vice president highlighted Bisonó's career in public service and valued the responsibility he assumes at the head of Dominican foreign policy.
Peña also recognized the work carried out by Roberto Álvarez during the six years in which he was at the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Mirex).
Upon assuming his new duties, Bisonó expressed his commitment to working in defense of the interests of the Dominican Republic and giving continuity to the priorities defined by the government of President Luis Abinader in matters of foreign policy.
The new chancellor has more than 30 years of experience in public service, which includes responsibilities in both the Executive Branch and the legislative sphere.
Since August 2020, he served as Minister of Industry, Commerce and MSMEs and, subsequently, assumed the role of Minister of Housing, Habitat and Buildings (Mivhed), a position he held at the time of his appointment as head of the Foreign Ministry.
Bisonó succeeds Roberto Álvarez, who held the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs since August 2020 and during his administration led Dominican foreign policy and the representation of the country's interests before the international community.

Desde agosto de 2020 se desempeñó como ministro deIndustria, Comercio yMipymesy, posteriormente, asumió como ministro deVivienda, Hábitat y Edificaciones(Mivhed), posición que ocupaba al momento de su designación al frente de la Cancillería. Bisonó sucede a Roberto Álvarez, quien ocupó el cargo de ministro de Relaciones Exteriores desdeagosto de 2020y durante su gestión encabezó la política exterior dominicana y la representación de losintereses del paísante lacomunidad internacional.
