Cameroon beat Malawi to win first Women’s Africa Cup of Nations title

Rabat, Aug. 17 (SANA)Cameroonwon theWomen’s Africa Cup of Nationsfor the first time after beatingMalawi3-0 in the final in the Moroccan capital, Rabat, on Sunday.

Marie Mangascored twice, opening the scoring in the 20th minute before adding her second just before halftime in the 45th. Naomi Eto scored Cameroon’s other goal in the 30th minute.

The victory gave Cameroon their first title in the competition after four previous appearances in the final ended without a trophy.

Cameroon reached the final after defeating hosts Morocco on penalties in the semifinals, while Malawi advanced with a victory over Algeria.
