21-carat gold price rises by SYP 100 in Syrian market
Damascus, Aug. 17 (SANA)The price of 21-caratgoldrose by SYP 100 per gram in the Syrian market Monday compared with Sunday’s rate.
According to a bulletin issued by theGeneral Authority for Precious Metals Management, one gram of 21-carat gold was priced at SYP 16,200 ($132.79) for selling and SYP 15,900 ($130.33) for buying.
The selling price of one gram of 18-carat gold reached SYP 13,900 ($113.93), while the buying price stood at SYP 13,600 ($111.48).
Gold was trading at $4,397 per ounce on the international market.
Gold prices edged higher, supported by a weakerUS dollarand US economic data that reduced expectations of a Federal Reserve rate hike next month, Reuters reported. Spot gold rose 0.3% to $4,388.62 an ounce, while the dollar index slipped 0.1%.
Established on February 12, 2025, the General Authority for Precious Metals Management regulates and develops Syria’s gold and precious metals sector and oversees gold pricing through provincial jewellers’ associations.
