Syria, Germany discuss expanding vocational education cooperation

Damascus, Aug. 17 (SANA)Syria andGermanydiscussed ways to expand cooperation invocational educationand better align training programs with labor market needs during talks in Damascus on Monday.

Minister of EducationMohammad Abdulrahman Turkomet German Embassy Chargé d’Affaires in DamascusMarcus Hickenat the ministry, where the two sides reviewed opportunities to strengthen educational cooperation, with a particular focus on vocational training.

The talks focused on exchanging expertise and developing vocational education programs to improve learning outcomes and equip students with skills that meet changing labor market demands.

Both sides stressed the importance of expanding cooperation in the sector asSyriaworks to develop its education system and prepare skilled workers for the country’s evolving economic and development needs.

At the end of the meeting, Turko wished Hicken success in his new diplomatic duties.

The meeting follows talks on May 23 between Turko and Syrian Embassy Chargé d’Affaires in Berlin Mohammad Baraa Shukri, which focused on meeting the educational needs of the Syrian community in Germany and strengthening cooperation in vocational education.
