Pakistan, Türkiye say diplomacy is best path to regional stability

Islamabad, Aug. 17 (SANA)Pakistani Foreign MinisterMohammad Ishaq Darand his Turkish counterpartHakan Fidanstressed that dialogue and diplomacy remain the most effective means of strengthening regional security and stability.

During a telephone call Sunday night, the two ministers reviewed the latest regional and international developments,Pakistan’s Foreign Ministrysaid in a post on X on Monday.

The two sides emphasized that diplomatic engagement offers the best means of addressing regional challenges and consolidating peace and stability.

TheTurkish and Pakistani foreign ministersalso renewed their countries’ commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation on issues of mutual interest.

At the fifth meeting of the four regional parties, held on August 5, the foreign ministers of Pakistan,Türkiye,Egypt and Saudi Arabia stressed the importance of continued coordination and unified positions on regional issues.

They also called for safeguarding maritime navigation through theStrait of HormuzandBab al-Mandebto preserve the stability of supply chains andenergy markets.
