Breaking this vicious cycle required a team that would courageously defend democracy. The group that most loudly proclaimed that sovereignty belongs solely to the nation was led by Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of the AK Party. His journey was full of difficulties. He had made historic contributions in Istanbul . All the plans were designed to stop him. They tried to stop him on the pretext of the poem he had read . While headlines were saying he couldn't even be a village headman, he trusted the people and said, "This song isn't over yet ." Buildings are bayonets, domes are helmets, mosques are barracks, believers are soldiers. Defending democracy was a difficult road. On this path, all kinds of obstacles were overcome, including prisons and political bans. As a result, with the great support of the nation, the AK Party was born. Like people all over Türkiye, those in Ankara also took to the streets from Esenboğa Airport to the city center to welcome Erdoğan and express their support . As long as this life remains in this body, we have no one to answer to but God. It is the nation, not some marginal groups, that will hold us accountable. The ballot box is also the place where the nation is held accountable. He asks at the ballot box. When street provocations also failed, FETÖ stepped in. During the period of December 17-25, the national will was targeted through a coup attempt targeting the security forces and the judiciary . The nation foiled this dirty game with its strong support. Having failed to achieve its objectives, FETÖ this time attempted a coup using weapons stolen from the people. On July 15, under the leadership of President Erdoğan, the nation itself took to the streets and wrote an epic of democracy. The coup attempt was thwarted by the sons and daughters of the nation with their bare hands. The millions filling the squares were chanting, "The decision is ours too!" The nation's steely resolve had made the coup plotters regret ever taking to the streets . The CHP, which legitimized coups by saying they were justified when the conditions were right, has shown that it hasn't changed today with veiled threats of a coup. President Erdoğan overcame every obstacle with the unparalleled support of the nation at the ballot box .
