UK condemns escalating Israeli settler violence in West Bank
London, Aug. 16 (SANA)UK Minister of State for the Middle EastStephen Doughtycondemned escalating Israeli settler violence in theoccupied West Bankon Sunday and called for those responsible to be held accountable.
“The shocking, appalling settler violence and settler terrorism we are seeing, yet again, in the West Bank must end,” Doughty wrote on X.
He expressed particular concern over developments in Qusra, south of Nablus, whereIsraeli settlersand forces have reportedly surrounded at least two Palestinian homes.
According to the Palestinian Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, settlers carried out 3,488 attacks against Palestinian communities, residents and property during the first half of 2026. These included physical assaults, shootings, arson, vehicle attacks, land seizures and the establishment of settlement outposts.
The commission said settlers killed 17 Palestinians, established 42 outposts and seized 4,379 dunums of Palestinian land during the same period.
The UK government has described Israeli settlement expansion and settler violence as illegal and a threat to the two-state solution. Britain and several allies imposed coordinated sanctions in June on individuals and organizations accused of financing or enabling violence in the West Bank.
