Damascus, Aug. 17 (SANA)Syrian Agriculture MinisterBasel al-Suwaidandiscussed with Matar Salem Matar Ali al-Neyadi, director of the Office of theUAEPresident’s Affairs in Damascus, ways to strengthen agricultural cooperation and rehabilitate projects and facilities affiliated with the UAE president in Syria.

During the meeting on Sunday, the two sides discussed the status of agricultural projects, farms and facilities damaged in recent years and ways to restore them to operation, with the aim of supporting agricultural development and increasing production.

The talks also covered nature reserves and environmental and agricultural projects affiliated with the UAE president inSyria, particularly the oryx and gazelle reserve, and ways to preserve and develop them to support biodiversity and protect animal and environmental resources.

The meeting comes as Syria’s Agriculture Ministry seeks to expand agricultural partnerships and investment with the UAE, reactivate productive and environmental projects and make greater use of available investment opportunities.

The ministry said such cooperation would support the development of Syria’s agricultural sector and broaden agricultural ties with Arab and international partners.
