Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mr. Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi, chairs a meeting of the Air Defense Command •••••••••• Today, Sunday, the Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mr. Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi, chaired a meeting of the Air Defense Command, in the presence of the Director of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and the Chief of Staff of the Army. During the meeting, the plan to build and develop air defense capabilities and enhance its readiness was discussed, ensuring the protection of Iraqi airspace and achieving sovereignty. The meeting also discussed contracts concluded with foreign companies to equip the Air Defense Command with advanced specialized systems, and stressed the acceleration of the implementation and supply of these contracts, in a way that contributes to completing the air defense system and raising its capabilities to monitor and control the Iraqi airspace. ••••• Media Office of the Prime Minister August 16, 2026
