Acadians are one of the oldest Francophone communities in North America, with roots in what is now Atlantic Canada stretching back more than four centuries.

Their story is one of hardship met with perseverance. On National Acadian Day, we celebrate the Acadian people, whose resilience has helped shape the identity of Canada itself.
