Prime Minister Mr. Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi confirms that the year 2027 will be the year of doubling the production and distribution of electrical energy •••••••••• The Prime Minister, Mr. Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi, confirmed that the next year, 2027, will be the year of doubling the production of electrical energy, and doubling the capacity of distribution and transmission, which represents an important start to change the reality of electrical energy in Iraq, and that he reassures the Iraqis that government measures are continuing to end the delay in the electricity file and stop waste and corruption, which has continued for decades. This came during a visit conducted by His Excellency to the headquarters of the Ministry of Electricity, as part of the effective follow-up of the performance of state service institutions, as he began by chairing an expanded meeting of officials and advanced cadres in the ministry, in which he stressed the need to redouble efforts, fight corruption, and present an urgent study to feed stations of the various types available, in a way that guarantees a noticeable improvement in the provision of electrical energy during the coming summer. His Excellency the Minister of Electricity directed the following: - Performing complete maintenance on the thirty thousand megawatts currently produced. - Purchasing imported energy of no less than 10,000 megawatts from neighboring countries.
