Presidente Abinader inaugura el techado del Centro Educacional Santo Cura de Ars (Cescar) para impulsar el deporte y la formación integral de más de 1,500 estudiantes en Capotillo
Santo Domingo.-President Luis Abinader, accompanied by the first lady, Raquel Arbaje, inaugurated this Saturday the roof of the Santo Cura de Ars Educational Center (Cescar), in Capotillo, a work that will benefit more than 1,500 students. Subsequently, he handed over the renovated Villa Francisca Sports and Cultural Club, which returns life, hope and new opportunities to the young people of this sector.
During the inaugural ceremony of the roofing of the Santo Cura de Ars Educational Center (Cescar), the director of the National Institute of Physical Education (Inefi), Alberto Rodríguez, highlighted that the infrastructure will allow the development of sports, recreational and training activities in decent and safe conditions. With this work, the institution adds 10 roofs delivered to educational centers in the country.
For his part, the director of Cescar, Roberto Cruz, thanked the work and highlighted that the students practice various sports disciplines, including golf, which expands their development opportunities.
On behalf of the students, José Antonio Díaz Morela thanked President Abinader and highlighted that the new space will contribute to the development of current and future generations.
Delivery of renovated roofing of the emblematic Villa Francisca Sports and Cultural Club
Subsequently, the ruler inaugurated the reconstruction of the emblematic Villa Francisca Sports and Cultural Club, which provides young people and the entire community with a renewed space for sports, recreation, training and coexistence. This is how a facility that for years has been a meeting point for sports, social, cultural and community activities is recovered.
At the event, the president of the Presidential Commission to Support Provincial Development (CPADP), Ángel de la Cruz, highlighted that the Villa Francisca Club, founded in 1960 and linked to important episodes in the country's democratic history, was transformed into a modern sports and cultural center. He highlighted the renovation of the field, roof, stands and façade, as well as the incorporation of a gym and cafeteria, as well as a medical and dental clinic.
Likewise, he explained that the facility has areas for boxing, judo, taekwondo, physiotherapy, a multipurpose room and spaces for technical and digital literacy courses. De la Cruz stated that this work is part of the program for the construction and reconstruction of sports facilities promoted by the Government in different communities in the country.
The mayor of the National District, Carolina Mejía, called on the community to take care of and keep the renovated Villa Francisca Club in good condition, as well as highlighting that the work responds to residents' requests and is part of joint actions with the Government to improve the safety and conditions of the sector, including the installation of 346 lights in 55 streets and the construction of 900 square meters of sidewalks.
Rubén Montes de Oca, president of the Villa Francisca Sports and Cultural Club, highlighted that the reconstruction of the club makes a dream of more than three decades come true and turns it into a modern sports complex with a gym, massage center, dental office, ring and cafeteria, while strengthening sports, discipline and the development of young people.
The delivery of these facilities is part of the actions promoted by the Government to recover and improve spaces for sports, recreation and healthy recreation, with special attention to communities where these places have important social value.

Resaltó la renovación de la cancha, techo, gradas y fachada, así como la incorporación de gimnasio y cafetería, además de un dispensario médico y odontológico. Asimismo, explicó que la instalación cuenta con áreas para boxeo, judo, taekwondo, fisioterapia, salón multiuso y espacios para cursos técnicos y alfabetización digital. De la Cruz afirmó que esta obra forma parte delprograma de construcción y reconstrucción de instalaciones deportivasque impulsa el Gobierno en distintas comunidades del país. La alcaldesa del Distrito Nacional,Carolina Mejía, llamó a la comunidad a cuidar ymantener en buen estado el renovado Club Villa Francisca, al igual que destacó que la obra responde asolicitudes de los residentesy forma parte de las acciones conjuntas con el Gobierno paramejorar la seguridad y las condiciones del sector,incluyendo la instalación de 346 luminarias en 55 calles y la construcción de 900 metros cuadrados de aceras.
