UK Maritime Body: Cargo ship hit by unknown projectile in Strait of Hormuz
London, Aug. 15 (SANA)The UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) center announced on Saturday that a bulk carrier was struck by an unknown projectile in theStrait of Hormuz, with no injuries reported.
In a statement on the X platform, the authority said: “The UKMTO center received a report of an incident in the Strait of Hormuz, stating that a bulk carrier was hit by an unknown projectile.”
The UKMTO confirmed that thecrewis safe and unharmed, noting that no damage assessment reports have been received so far, while the environmental impact of the incident remains unknown.
The center urged vessels to exercise caution while transiting the area and to report any suspicious activity.Last Thursday, the UKMTO announced that an oil tanker was attacked by a drone in the Strait of Hormuz, sustaining minor damage with no casualties reported.
